lyrics

I'd rather die running,
not holding back the shield around me.
Refugees are the children living in blind admiration of fairness.
Fair is the colour of money.

I'm not afraid to walk on this line, I'm not afraid to walk this line.

No one will fight for me.
So you think you can stop me?
I'm taking back my space
and I'm taking back my pride
and if you step over my line,
you best assure you'll never see light.

To apologize for every life that a brother takes. Cloaking all the wounds that the body makes, every time I cut a vein off from my heritage. Hands apart showing all the blood of thousands of those I killed without intention. My mind is a battle to resist desensitization, but I can't help but to protect my heart from all the depression. I'm counting all the times I dismiss my prayers worrying about hypocrisy over my own intelligence. Till the ground shakes and eats me whole, I am on my knees my lips kissing the earth. The only way to fight is to surrender in the battle against a mad, mad, mad world.

THE PSALMS Singapore

you know that scent you wake up to every morning?

you know that sound you hear amidst the silence when you try to sleep?

that's why we are here. now. pouring our hearts out. dedicating our lives to the little things we hold on to when life is at its tethers.

while we are young.

you know?
